The city council also governs the actions of the Municipal Utilities. Warren shares natural gas utility along with city sewer and water utilities with adjacent towns.

In case of emergency on weekends or evenings, call the Sheriff's Department at 745-5411 or Operations Superintendent at  201-0110.

Fire and Police Departments

Warren has a well-trained volunteer fire department with safe and well-maintained equipment. The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department provides police service to Warren.  Call 911 for an emergency.    

City Water

The City Water System supplies water to the town of Warren.  It provides water from one well located over a large aquifer near Warren, Minnesota. The water is delivered to Warren in a eight inch line. We have a 60,000 gallon elevated tank and a 1,000,000 gallon ground-storage facility. Average daily usage is 114,000 gallons.

Sewer Service

The City has a 77-acre sewage lagoon system consisting of one primary and two secondary cells. The lagoon system is capable of treating more than 180,000 gallons per day, well over our current demand.

Billing

Electricity, natural gas, water, sewer and garbage are billed by the City of Warren on a monthly basis.  There is a form to fill out at the city office to start your billing.  Please stop in.  You will need to provide your driver's license number. The City owns its own natural gas utility. The utility works closely with the MN Office of Pipeline Safety to provide safe delivery of our product. In recent years, we have been able to commit to short and long-term purchases of gas allowing our rates to often-times be well below the rates of larger publicly owned utilities.

Power

City of Warren provides electrical service to the city. PKM provides power to the rural areas outside city limits.  Contact PKM at 745-4711.

 

Telephone, Cable TV and Internet

Local and long distance telephone service is provided by Frontier Telephone Company in Warren.  True Value in Warren is a local Alltel Cell Phone retail local with local 201 cell numbers available for cell phones.  Internet is provides with wireless connections from Frontier, Invisimax, Sjoberg's Cable, and Wikstrom Telephone Company in Karlstad.  Cable TV is from Sjoberg's Cable Company in Thief River Falls. 

 

If you have trouble paying your utility bill, local agencies may be able to provide payment assistance.  The State Department of Human Services recommends you call the county in which you live.
